Heated Gear & Hand Warmers
A heated vest keeps your core warm on a cold, windy morning without the bulk of multiple layers. This collection covers heated vests, heated jackets, rechargeable hand warmers, and heated hunting clothes from ActionHeat for long sits in the stand or blind.
How to Choose Heated Gear
Plan for Texas temperature swings
A Texas morning can start near freezing and hit 70 by noon. A heated vest under a light jacket lets you stay warm at daylight and shed heat later without packing a heavy coat.
Vest or jacket
A heated vest is a versatile layer that warms your core and fits under almost anything. A heated jacket adds sleeve coverage and works as an outer layer on its own. Your hunting style and layering system decide which fits.
Battery life and heat settings
Run time depends on the heat setting and temperature. For long sits, start on low, bump it up when you need it, and carry a spare battery for all-day hunts.
Walk in cool, then heat up
Sweating on the walk in leaves you chilled later. Walk in lightly dressed with the heat off, then turn it on once you are settled.
Rechargeable hand warmers
Rechargeable hand warmers are reusable and adjustable, and many can double as a phone charger. Keep one in a hand muff or pocket so your trigger hand stays warm and ready.
Quiet fabric and fit
Choose heated hunting clothes with quiet fabric and a fit that allows layering. Make sure battery placement does not interfere with your shooting position or harness.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a heated vest battery last?
It depends on the heat setting, battery size, and outside temperature. Low settings last much longer than high. Check the manufacturer's specs for run times.
Can you wash a heated jacket?
Many heated jackets and vests are washable once you remove the battery. Always follow the care instructions on the garment.
Are rechargeable hand warmers better than disposable ones?
Rechargeable hand warmers are reusable and adjustable, which saves money over a season. Disposables are light and need no charging. Many hunters carry both.
